In addition to collecting recipes and food histories from neighbors, a goal of this project has been to create spaces where community can come together around a shared table.

In collaboration with The Altadena Library, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen, and 409 Woodbury, this project has been able to organize community events and distribute over 100 new, high quality kitchenware items to families who lost their home in the fire.

Witnessing the myriad ways in which friends, neighbors, and strangers continue to show up for one another has been remarkable. It has fueled resolute optimism in the face of immeasurable grief.
